ST. ANDREW BURNS CLUB

■Vt a meeting of the executive of the St* Andrew Burns Club (Wellington), held last Tuesday, it was decided to alliliate with the Burns Federation, Scotland. The federation, which lias its headquarters at KilmarnOck, Ayrshire, is world-wide in its operations, and the number of affiliated clubs is now Hearing • a thousand. _ Its purpose is to strengthen and consolidate the bond of fellowship among tho various clubs. .

The syllabus for' the ensuing year was approved,- and tho high standard set by tho president, Mr. Robert Hogg, at the inaugural meeting last month, will be maintained. The committee has received numerous requests to arrange further addresses by- Mr. Hogg, and accordingly during the ensuing year four further talks dealing with. different aspects of Burns will be given by, him. The delegates to the Wellington Association of Scots Societies reported on the action taken by the association in connection with the forthcoming bt. Andrew's night concert, to be held on December 1. i Appreciation was expressed ot the services given by the ladies' committee, artists, and members in making the inaugural meeting an outstanding success.
