ELECTORS' ASSOCIATION
The City Council's proposal to grant permission for the erection of trade facilities on the* eastern rocks at Island Bay, subject to Parliamentary sanction, was reported with regret at the annual meeting of the Island Bay Municipal Electors' Association last night. That step was regarded as the forerunner of further facilities.
The need for the establishment of a library was stressed. It was decided to collaborate with Mr. O. J. Howarth in tho overturos he is making to the City Council on behalf of. the school committee. . . .
' Tho City Council is to be approached again for finality in connection, with prevention of the sand-drift nuisance between tho children's, play area and tho beach. »
The seating accommodation about the Island Bay sea front has been increased by twenty. Tho balanco of £60 to tho credit of the children's play area has "been spent in the making of £0 garden seats. They wcro presented to tho Wellington City Council by tho association, stated the 'report. The City Council has placed tho seats about the waterfront and in the play area.
