UNPRECEDENTED PRICES

Unprecedented prices ranging up to £50 characterised the first annual sale of pedigree pigs, the prope/ty of Mr. A. T. Kogcrs, of Ngaruawahia, held today at Claudelauds.show grounds. TJte offering comprised about 260 pigs, in which pedigree Tamworths predominated. Borkshires, Devons, and cross sows wero also .penned.'
The sale opened briskly, tho offering of Borkshires being disposed of at prices ranging from 4gs for six-months-old sows to 17^gs for Mountloy's Maid 11, which was sold to Mr. S. L. Crooks, Whangarei. Tamworths were keenly sought, and several of the prices, unequalled since tho establishment of the pedigree pig'market a year ago, were realised on finely-constitutioncd animals. For Mountley's Ngaruawahia King I Mr. A. McLean, Whakatane, paid 40gsj for Mountley's Palmerston Queen V Mr. Waynes, Waihou, advanced to 47gs; and for Whata Bed Lady 11, 30gs was paid by Mr. E. Chilcott, of Frankton.
