PERMISSION FOR MATCHES

Permission was granted by tho management committee of the Wellington Bugby Union last night for the playing of tho following matches: — Bongotai Collego v. Stratford High School, at Kongotai, August 11; George and Doughty, Ltd., v. McGower and Meßeath, Ltd., at Kilbirnio (date undecided); Marist Brothers' Old Boys' Club, veterans v. senior A team, August 25; Miramar Club, married men v. single men, at the Polo Ground, September 8; Borhampore Baptist Bible Class v. Island Bay Baptist Biblo Class (date undecided); Wellington College, first fifteen, annual tournament 'at Christchureh, August 18 and 20; Wellington Primary Schools' Bugby Union, annual quadrangular tournament (Wellington, Manawatu, Wairarapa, and Wangauui), at Palinerston North, August 17. In connection with the primary schools' tourney, a request for a grant of £18 to enable tho Wellington team to go to Palmerston North was acceded to. An application for representative caps for the players who will represent the Wellington Union in the tourney was grantod. Arrangements were made for tho senior representative team to travel to Palmerston North by tho 9.15 a.m. Napier train on Saturday for the match with Manawatu. Tho team will return by the 5.5 p.m. train. It was decided that senior A and senior B games at Athletic Park on Saturday commence at 1 p.m.
