LOWER-GRADES

COMMITTEE'S REPORT

Tho' report of tho junior advisory committee regarding lower grado competition was presented at a meeting of the management committee of tho Wellington Bugby Union last night. The committee reported as follows: —

Junior Grade.—First division: Petono and Wellington College Old Boys' have met twice with a win each. Bocommended that theso two teams play off for the championship on Saturday on Kilbirnie No. 1 ground, at 2 p.m., and that the trial game bo played on Kilbirnio No. 2 ground, at 2.30 p.m. Approved.

Second Division. —Recommended in view of the trial and representative games that tho championship be closed and awarded to Plimnierton. Approved.

Third Grade. —.First division: Agreed Old Boys play early on August 18 some team other than Technical Old Boys. Other matches postponed.

Second and Third Divisions.—Held over. No games on August 18.

Fourth Grade. —As, tho representative gamo against tho colleges will not be played until September 15 or 22, it will bo necessary'to keep this grade going until September 1, with the exception of teams which are not in the running for tho championship of the second division. a First Division. —Agreed that all teams in this division should continue playing until September 1, but with no matches on August 18. Second Division.—Agreed that the four leading teams play as follows on August 25: Athletic v. Hutt, Eastbourne v. Petone.

Fifth Grade.—Petone Las a commanding lead. Eccommended that the championship be closed and awarded to Petone. Approved. Sixth Grado. —Johnsonyillc and Onslow have met three times, Onslow winning twice. Bccommended that the championship be closed and awarded to Onslow. Approved. Seventh Grade. —Moera and Athletic have played one game less than the other three leading teams. Becommended that Moera play Athletic on a town ground on August 18, and if Moera wins it be awarded the championship, and if Athletic wins it play off for tho championship with Upper Hutt. Approved. Tho report was adopted.
