Miss Mary Paterson, "Wadcstown, will bo a visitor to Christehurch for. race week. Mrs. G. Kobison, TaUiver.i Terrace, is visiting her daughter, Miss Barbara Eobison, in Sydney. Hiss Margaret Salmond, Moiling, will visit Christehurch for the racis week festivities. Mrs. 11. Bigges, Ohristcluireh, who has been visiting Wellington, is at present staying in Ilawko's Bay. Mrs. L. N. Inglis, Tiinaru, wlio has been A'isiting Wellington, has returned to her homo. Mrs. Andrew Gould, Tcnuika, who has been visiting "Wellington, has returned to the south. Mrs. Boss Brodie, who has been staying in Wellington, returned to Christehurch yesterday. Mrs. 0. W. Smith, Wellington, is visiting Auckland. A delightful and enjoyable afternoon party was recently held at the residence of Mrs. M. I\ Biggs, Brooklyn, in honour of her daughter, Eileen. Tho reception rooms were tastefully decorated with bowls of bright spring flowors and birch. Mrs. Biggs received the guests woaring a charming , gown , of black crinkle crepe, and was assisted by Miss Biggs, who wore .a smart brown ensemble. Solos by Mrs. Lou Smith ;and Miss Gwen Baldwinson were- much, appreciated by the guests.
Tho engagement is anonuneed between Eoger Charles Clifford, Stonyhurst, Christchurch, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clifford, Bed House, Market Drayton, and Betty, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. kiver, of Christchureh, states "The Post's" London correspondent.
Tho. engagement is announced between Geoffrey Bryant, elder son of Mi-. :and Mrs. F. W. Hobbs, of 'Christchurch, and Joan Frances, only child of the late Captain J. J. Bellamy, 8.F.A., and Mrs. FitzGerald, of 71 St. George's Eoad, Westminster, states "Tho Post's" London correspondent.
