POULTRY PRODUCERS
PROPOSED HUTT BRANCH
A meeting convened for the purpose o£ forming a branch of the New Zealand Poultry 'Producers' Federation was held in the Druids' Hall, Upper Hutt, last evening, presided over by Mr. G. S. Bates.
A suggestion from Lower Hutt that a branch be formed to cover the whole of the Hutt Valley was considered, and the formation of such a branch was approved subject to the setting up of sub-commit-tees in the Petone, Lower Hutt, Stokes Valley-llaywards, and Upper Hutfc areas. The executive is to consist of two members from each sub-committee.
It was decided to call another nfeeting at an early date, and the convening of the meeting was left in the hands of Messrs. A. G. Mumby and A. J. Severn, who were elected chairman and .secretary (pro tern) respectively. Other resolutions passed were:—"That this meeting urge the New Zealand Poultry Board to see that chilled^ and preserved eggs are branded as such," and "That in the opinion of this meeting, the maintenance of Wallaceville as an experimental poultry station is essential to the poultry industry."
