CONTROL OF TRAFFIC

Bank holiday, which is observed on the fust Monday in August, is. .the most popular holiday of tho year and pvepai-ations for handling heavy traffic on railways and roads during the coming weekend have been made by tho carrying companies. On many services to coastal resorts outward traffic began this .evening. Specially augmented air services also took effect, as from today, on routes to France and Belgium, while record bookings are expected on inland air services to pleasure resorts in .Britain.
. Particular interest is being displayed in arrangements made for the effective control of holiday road traffic during this peak period of the season. All available! mounted police will be on duty onall loads around London, and small radio stations have been ereeted 'to co-ordinate their work in preventing unnecessary congestion and taking measures to minimise the risk of accidents.
