Windward has revealed promise in all ma racing this season,. though, previously he had won only "twice, and he may be a ; good handicap proposition- next' term. On Thursday heled till half way down the straight in the Petone Hack Handicap and was finally just beaten out of a place. He ia from the Tribulation mare Arbitration,, the dam also.of Miss Hastings, and, one of-the Mima Stud offerings at the 1932 Trentham sales, he was bought cheaply for 40 guineas by Mr. W. R. Kemball, who also owned Miss Hastings. \Vhen_Mr. Eemball decided to reduce his team in the autumn he was one of those put under the hammer, and his present Feildmg trainer 'C. Pileher bought him at 100 guineas on behalf of his patron, Mr. P. Madson, who also owns Tiger Gain. As he has already won two races since his sale he is proving a cheap purchase. Royal Feast went a solid' race and is due to break his maiden status at any time. He has had only three rapes to date and has been'• second in ' two of them. He carries the same colours as High Grader. Hest also ran another fine race, but her parcel of weight, was just too .much-for her.. The others were well beaten, but Jubilee Song and Sneet Music showed good speed up; till the distance. Pawky ran just fairly, but the racing should benefit him, as he had, obviously had an easy time since he was last out in the autumn. . , . .
