FAVOURITE OF LATE LAMA
PUNISHMENT FOR PLOTTING

CALCUTTA, May 30,
Lung Shar, former Commander-in-Chief in Tibet and a favourite of the latto Dalai Lama, has had his eyes put out because of the power he was gaining over the monasteries in a large part of the country. He was arrested by order of the Tibetan Council of Assembly of the Regency on a charge of plotting against' the Premier and Cabinet. Ho was convicted on the same charge.
