WHOLE FAMILY DEAD
TRAGEDY OF POVERTY
(Received Slay-31, 1.30 p.m.)
MELBOURNE, This Day.
In a house which had been shut and silent for two days a whole family were found dead with their throats slashed. The police believe that poverty drove the father to murder his wife and three children and then commit suicide. The victims were Frank O'Brien, about fifty, Mrs. O'Brien, about forty, and the children, Owen, three, Joan, two, and Norah, nine mouths.
