I - GISBOBNE, May 28. ■ All inqnest was held today concerning ' the dCatn of a 17-year-oid girl, I Beatrice Adelaide-Hignett, at Cook Hospital, whe"re she had gone for the extraction of some teeth. Medical evidence showed that the girl | was only slightly anaesthetised. After the extraction had been completed the patient suddenly stopped breathing. Eeauseitation methods were used without avail. • Further medical evidence was that the girl was suffering from extensive dental caries and pyorrhoea, rendering extraction essential. A post-mortem examination showed that the lungs were healthy, with no obstruction. --The heart was small and the right chamber was dilated. The cause of death was the effect of the anaesthetic- on toxic myocarditis, secondary to severe dental sepsis. The Coroner, Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., returned a verdict accordingly.
