NAMBUCCA STRANDING
VESSEL A TOTAL LOSS
SYDNEY, May 0.
The crew of the stranded steamer Nambucca reached Sydney today. They report that the vessel, has broken her back and become a total loss. -'
The stranding occurred while the Nambucca was being towed by a tug across the bar of the Nambucca Biver. A huge wave lifted her and dumped her on a sandbank, where she remained helpless at the mercy of the big overnight seas, the crew spending a miserable night aboard.
