Among tho invited guests wero the inspectors and chairman and secretary of the Education Board.
Miss Magill, president "of the institute, who received tho guests, wore a handsome gown of amethyst velvet. Part of the tiall was arranged for cards, and a number of bridge playors soon-found each other out, and games began. Tho.cxcellont orchestra played both old-time dances and now, and it appeared as if the educational people adhered to tho graceful' waltzes, etc., of the older times rather than the syncopated newer styles.
. Some very pretty frocks wero worn, and the sceno was a-pleasant one. 1 Supper was set in, the largo room, and paper caps were donned, speeches were made, some causing great amuscmont. Altogether the evening was a delightful interlude in tho serious business of conference.
