'.I'lic oneniny of the Moruiniitou Golf Club was Jargoly attended, forty couples facing the starter in the morning when a mixed Canadian foursome was played. The following, fluids were represented: Mirainnr, the Hutt, Shandon, Manor Park, Paeknlcariki,. Sunny Buy, Athletic Park, Westward Ho, Karori Club, Titahi, and Waiwetu. . The-morning's-competition resulted in a tie between Miss ..Clark and V. Laycock, 84, 19—65, and Miss Cumbevworth and T. McWhirter, 83, 20—65. Next were:—Miss Short and T. -C. Johnston, SO, 20—CO; Miss M. Robertson and A. Clarke, 82, 10—CO; Mr. and Mrs. F. Wells, 50, I.'!—U7; Mr. and Mrs. Dcnni.ston, Bj, 18—67'; Mrs; ■'St'ratiub're and N. After lunch Mr. J: D. Sievwi-ight, the pres.ideut of. tho.oliib,. -deijlsu'cd tho season open, and placed tho 'first ball on the green. Tlio plny-oIF to decide the winners of the mixed i'omsoino,wns played over the first three, holes, Miss Clark and F. Laycock proving the' winners by ono stroke. The pitching and putting competition was koeiily contested, tKp ladies' section resulting in a tie between Miss Cooney and Miss M. Robertson, Miss Cooney proving the winner alter a replay, Mr. D. Comesky had a clear-cut win. Mr. Sievwright presented the prizes, and thanked the visitors for attending. Mr. IFergie, of the Sliandon Club, replied for the visitors., .
The annual general meeting of tho club was held recently with a big muster. The officers appointed for 'the ensuing year were:—Patron, Mr. E. Williams; president, Mr. J. D.
