FRIENDLY GAMES

During the weekend two teams from the Kiwi Hockey Club, Masterton, visited Wellington itud played matches against teams from the Hum Hockey Club. The matches were played at Karon lark, the A game resulting in a draw and the 1! game in a win for Huia after an interesting match in each case. Both games wove played in a very friendly spirit, and wove enjoyed by all participants. The matches were sil>ly controlled by Mesxiti. Stubbiugs and Burnell Browne (A) and Burnip and Cusack IB). The visitors were entertained at a dance on Saturday night. Musical items, pois, and other Native, dances, given by a

party from the Poneke Ladies' Hockey Club, were enthusiastically received.

On Sunday afternoon all four team* met for afternoon tea, after a. motor run around the Marine Drive. Toasts hoiioured included the visitors, proposed by Mr. McAlistcr and replied to by Mr. Stubbing.? (manager of the Kiwi teams), and the referees, proposed by Mr. A. Jenkins (Huia coach) and replied to by Mr. Burnip. The visitors loft lor Mastcrton at 5.30 p.m. on Sunday. The visit was a return one, the Hum Club having travelled to Masterton at the end of lart season at the invitation of Kiwi. The fixture is now regarded aw an annual one.
