EIGHT KILLED AT AJODHYA
ALL OVER SACEED COW

Eight were killed, including a woman, and scores injured, in a riot between Hindus and Moslems at Ajodhya, tho sacred city-of the Hindus, on the banks of tho Gogra, in the United Provinces. The city was in tho hands of a frenzied mob for over four hours, till police reinforcements arrived from Lucknow, 84 miles away.
Tho trouble started over Moslems in the neighbouring village of Shahjahanpur sacrificing a cow, which is sacred in Hindu eyes, at a festival. Hindus stormed and looted the village, and burned Moslems' houses.
: Many are reported injured in a similar clash in tho village of Atmakur, in the Kurnool district, Madras.
