A sueee»Uul gathering took place in the Y.M.G.A. gymnasium recently, when the association's cricket and swimming clubs he! da social evening and dance. The guests of honour were the members tif the Y.W.C.A. Cricket Club, who were, narrowly defeated by the V.M.C.A. team at a cricket match at, Newtowu Park. The evening was spent in games and dancing, Messrs. ]>. G. Dyer and J. Parkin supplying the music, jyhile supper was served in the maiu lounge by Mrs. Abercrombie, and helper^. Occasion was taken by Mr. R. P. Staples, swimming club president, to present the Crouch Memorial Cup and other swimming trophies. The Crouch trophy was won by, L. Waller, and other successful' swimmers during the season were E. Willetts, "J. White, "K. Osborne, and I. Gow.
