ELLERSLIE GALLOPS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) : AUCKLAND, This Day;. There was beautiful weather for the final gallops at Ellerslio this morning. The bulk of the work wasr done oil the course, proper, with the "poles'3s feet out. The going was excellent; and some first-class gallops were recorded, the best being those of Curie, Melisande, Senior, Imainint, .Sunny Sky, Star Artist, Royal Artist, Bed Manfred, and Kiltowyn. On the course proper, Burnish and Pomp jumped off at the five-furlong post, running the first two furlongs in 24 3-ssee, and' completing the distance in lmin 4 2-ssee. I^rnisii, who worked very freely, was '• slightly in front at the' end. Curie finished* slightly in front of Epigram and Master Brierly over a mile. He led throughout, running the first two furlongs in 24 3-ssec, four furlongs in 50 4-ssec, five furlongs in lmin 3 3-ssee, and the full distance in lmin 43sec. He carried more weight than the other pair, who.also did well. Gay Broney was in front of Desert Star, with Wee Pat and Kilnmir further back, after a mile covered in 1 lmin 44 l-ssec. Lady Spy went away in front of Karangapai at the five-furlong post, the former taking lmin 5 l-ssec and the latter lmin 9see. They did the last half-mile in. 51 3-ssee. Melisande and Senior finished in front of Werohia over a mile in Iniin 4(5 .2-ssee, the first five furlongs occupying lmin 6 2:ssee, Senior then boing in. front, but Melisande, who was wide out, shaded him at the finish. Imaniint reeled off half a mile in 50 2-ssee, running ,on soundly at the end. Coronilla and Capris ran three furlongs'in 38 4-ssee, ana Pin Money five furlongs in Imin 9'2-ssec. Knight of Australia ' showed up better than D 'Artagnan over seven furlongs in lmin 34sec. Prolyxo and Sunny Sky finished well clear of Ornamental after seven furlongs in lmin 30 2-ssec,' the first half-mile being run in. 50 l-ssec. Jonathan and Impasto, over seven furlongs, finished practically on terms in lmin 31 2-sseo, running the first three furlongs in 36 3-ssee. Psychologist, over a similar distance, ran the first four furlongs in 50 4-ssec, and finished in lmin 33 3-sscc. ■, Rust and Spiral were associated over a roimd in 2min 11 4-ssec. The last six furlongs were done in lmin 23 4-ssec, and the final half-mile. iv 56 4osec. Neither was doing his.best. Solomon was too good for Brown Lap over half a mile in 50 2-ssec. over seven 'furlongs* There Was little between them at the finish. They ran the first half-milo in-Slsec-and the full distance in lmin 31 l-sses. Star Artist had the worst of the weights, and her effort was pleasing. , • Red Manfred made a pleasing effort over seven furlongs, in limn 3.0 3-ssec. He ran the first three' furlongs in 38 2-ssee and four furlongs in 50 l-ssec: He was very wido out, and the gallop compared favourably- with any other during tho morning. Baroscope and Catoma wore sent over a mile and a quarter in 2min 21 2-ssee, tho last round taking 2min 8 l-ssec. Seven furlongs were covered in lmin 33 4-osec, and the final halfmile in 55 4-ssee. Baroscope was going better at the finish. ■ . Lordly Knight ran six furlongs in lmin 19 . 2-ssee. King Musk. was being held back to Glenrata - arid United after seven fui-longs in' lmin 34see, the first half-mile taking 51 2-ssec. ' King Musk's effort .was' impressive. Kiltowyn, who had a fair amount of pace on when he went away from-the halfmile post, ran . the' first furlong in 12 l-ssec and finished in SOsee, going nicely all tho way. : . Prince of . Orange jumped . four hurdles, giving a safe display, but he did not have much pace on. Afterwards he ran six furlongs on the grass in lmin 19 3-osec. ■.■'■,', . . .- Snow Prince and. Callamart were companions in a similar task, .giving' a' first-rate exhibition. Afterwards; they ran seven furlongs on the. course proper in lmiu 40 4-osee.. Cargen cleared four hurdles, giving a satisfactory display. .....■■ Riotous., Brown Abbey, Town, Beauty, Dofflo, Billy Boyj and Zane Grey were sent over a round of the steeplechase course, and were in that, .order practically throughout. r . Riotous- jumped particularly well, and Brown Abbey also pleased.
