"ART IN NEW ZEALAND"
A monograph on'the art of ' Maud bherwood, accompanied by two coloured plates, is featured in the current number of "Art in New Zealand." Another artist who ( has tribute paid to' her work is Margaret Butlerj and one example of her sculpture is the subject of a plate. "Poster Designing" is an interesting and instructive article by F. H. Coventry, several black and white illustrations accompanying it. Work by F. A. Shurrock, Ross McGill G Woods, and David Paige also figures among the illustrations. A pleasing feature is the inclusion of three photographs by W..,C. Davies, of the Cawthlon Institute, who is making a. photographic record,of New Zealand's fastvanishing flora. Tho literary contents of the March number of "Art in New Zealand" are wide in their scope and of high standard, and the repertory and art notes, as usual, make interesting leading. The' editorial laments the non-inclusion of Wellington in the list of cities in whicn the Empire Loan Collectors' Society's collection of British art will be shown. ,
