The continuance during the period under | review of Unsettled economic conditions, v ith the resultant difficulty m finding emlilojment for* the citj's jouths, has been severely,: felt by . members : of the club (states the annual report o£ the Marist Rugby Pootball Club, to be presented at the geneial meeting next Monday night), and this unfortunate position is reflected to a gieat extent m the performances of the teams, especially those of tlje lower grades. -In this connection appreciation is expressed of the efforts of the Marist Old Boys' Association in endeavouring to find employment for members, and the employment officer, Mr. J. W. Blake, is congratulated upon his success in placing so many youths in positions. During the season senior representative honours,were gained by J. Butler, A. M. Macdonald, and C. E. Robins, and junior1 honours by W. Bacon and J. Barry. The report states that the senior A team scarcely fulfilled expectations, largely because of the enforced absence* of some of its best players, and because of injuiies to «e\eral otheis eaily in the season. The senior -B. team a started well,: but, owing to injuries, etc., it later became difficult to Ifield.a full,team. Tlie best club performance -nag returned by the third grade, Eecond division, team "which was awarded the Brough Cup. The club's six. teams scored 58 point's in the club championship, finishing sixteenth. In the tournament held at Wangaiiui at Easter the club's iepresenta.tives yon both the Spillane Cup and the Moran Cup, having only a penalty goal scored against them. Owing to the careful administration of the' funds, the club's finances are in a satisfactory condition.
