PETONE CLUB'S MEETING

The annual meeting of the Petone Rugby Football Club was held last evening, the president, Mr. C. Nissen, being in the chair. There was a large attendance? of members. In movms the adoption of the annual leport and balance-sheet, Mr. J. R. Robertson said he. was impressed with the glowing report of the past season's operations. Success in a club could be judged by the high general aveiage attained throughout tho season, and the fact that Petone hid won the De^ar Shield, for the championship, was ah' indication of its success. In seconding the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, Mr. J. F.r O'Leary said; that it reflected great credit on the committee. I Mr. C. P. Brockelbank mentioned, that Ihe had represented the club at the KaiI apoi Club's jubilee last-winter. 1 Mr. L. T. Cobcroft congiatulated the j club on its success. Mr. E. Price also spoke. 3lr. Price was congratulated on being elected a vice-president of the Wellington Rugby Union: It was stated that; advice had been recert ed horn the Hutt Club that the friends of the late Mr. A.. Mcßain had donated a cup for competition between the Petpne and IJutt senior-fifteens. Coaches were elected as follows!:—Senior, Mr. H. E. Nicliolls; senior B, Mr. C. Gieen; junior, Mr. A Millei; third A, Mr. I. Thompson; fouith A, Mr F. Brockelbank; fifth, Mr. J. Daley; sixth, Mr. W. P. Coles; seventh, Mr. W.McCorrnack It was decided that the ■ committee should go into the question of deciding on a club .blazer. The club decided, to .revert to the old piocedure of_ permitting the committee to elect its o^n chairman instead of "filling the office at the annual general meeting Tluee neT\ membeis -fteie elected. It was announced that ten teams would probably be entered for;-the competitions, this year1, the new team being'the third: B one. I Mr. M. F. Nicholls intimated that he would not be available as senior coach this season, but would gi\e occasional coachinj help m the grades if lequired.
