MEETING OF COUNCIL

The monthly meeting of the Lower Hutt Borougli Council was held last evening, Mr. J. W. Andrews (Mayor) presiding. Tho works committee reported that the Hutt Park committee's permission had beeu granted for the borough to take a strip of approximately five feet for the completion of the tar scaling of Randwick Road, subject to compensation being discussed when the completion of the widening is contemplated at a later date. The committee recommended that the oner be accepted, but that the Hutt Park com.mittee be advised that in the councils opinion compensation shoiild.be discussed by the council in office at the time the widening to the full width was being arranged for. ■ ■ • ■ The Hutt Golf Club was granted permission to erect a shed on land which is really roadway, at a rental of 5s per quarter, subject to three months' notice to terminate the arrangement.
