NO PRACTICES THIS WEEK

The weekly meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Cncket Association was held last evening, Mr. P. is. Broad presiding. In response to a request from the southern associations the Wellington colts team will play Asbburton on December 27 and 28, instead o£ on December 26 aud 27 Consequently the. team will now leave Wellington on Tuesday night instead ot on Monday. , ' In view o£ the state or the ground, practice wickets at the Basin Keservc will not ,bo available to club players during this week. The Plunket Shield team will hold a practice on Friday. ~ The University Club was given permission to send a team to tour the country districts during the holidays and also to send a team to play at Waipukurau oil Bosing Day. The Hutt Club was also given permission to play holiday matches. In regard to a request from the i-ehef workers cricket committee that its players should be given passes to the Plunket Shield matches or admitted at a reduced charge, it was decided to adhere to the decision made last year that no suck passes should be granted. . The committee decided to accept J. R. Lamason's explanation of his failure to play in the Town v. Country match.

SENIOR FIXTURES. The senior fixtures for January .6 and 13" are:— Kilbirnie v. Wellington, at Basm Reserve No. 1. . Wellington College Old Boys v. University, at Kilbirnie. Institute v. Pet^ne, at Petone. Hutt v. Midland; at Basin Reserve No. 2. • The matches for January 20 and 27 are: Kilbirnie v. Petone, at Kilbirnie. Hutt v. Institute, at Kelburn Park. Wellington y. Wellington College Old Boys;, at Basin Reserve 'No. 1. Midland v. University; at Basin Reserve No. 2.
