NELSON V. NEW PLYMOUTH
(Special to tho "Evenino Post.") NELSON, December 18. The annual cricket matcli between the New Plymouth High School and Nelson College commenced on the College Ground today. New Plymouth won the toss and batted on an easy wicket. A good start was made, 110 appealing for three wickets before lunch, but the innings closed for 144, T. Ralfc and Freeman routing the tailenders. Mason and Karston opened for Nelson and batted steadily to put their team iv a, strong position at the end of the day's play. Their partnership realised 169 runs. Karsten's performance was very fine indeed and he reached his century just before the drawing of stumps. He hit* ten boundaries. NEW PLYMOUTH. First Innings.
