SHOP ASSISTANTS
AGREEMENT REACHED
A further meeting between representatives of. the employers and of the workers' union was held at the office of the New Zealand Employers' Federation yesterday for the purposo of discussing the wages for retail shop assistants for tho Wellington industrial district. Tho employers wero represented by Messrs. S. E. S. Sheard, W. Simm, D. S. Patrick. A. P. Smith, and T. O. Bishop, and the union by Messrs. P. Walsh and A. W. Croskery. A complete agreement was. reached, and the Court of Arbitration will be asked to embody the terms of the agreement in an award. The terms of settlement will be adopted also by the employers and workers in the northern and Otago and Southland industrial districts.
