FLIGHT TO NEW ZEALAND

(Received December 19, 2.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Sir Charles KLngsfOld Smith will fly the Southern Cross to New Zealand about the middle of January. The new monoplane which is building at Cockatoo Island Dockyard will not be ready by then owing to delay in the delivery of the engines, but if the aeroplane gives satisfactory results in the tests, it will be flown to New Zealand later.

Smithy will.pilot the Southern Cross and Captain Taylor'will be navigator. The new monoplane will be flown by Trevor .White, with Bennett as navigator.
