LONDON, December 16. I Hundreds of homes are in peril on the East Coast, which is being swept by a gale. Unusually heavy tides are pounding its shores, bringing down, cliff sides in many places. Many gardens havo been destroyed at Lowestoft.] Seawalls wero badly damaged at 1-Iytho and St. Margaret's Bay.
