THE TRIAL CONCLUDED
LEIPZIG. December 16. Herr Sachs, in a speech ■ extending over four hours and a half, urged Torgler's acquittal on charges in connection with the Reichstag fire. Dimitroff, one of the accused, declared that the Court should recognise the innocence of Popoff, Taneff, Torgler, and himself, and regard Lubbe as a misused tool of the enemies of the workers. The sentences will he promulgated on December 23.
