A SUCCESSFUL RECITAL
. Miss Mavis. AVindsor and her pupils, assisted by Misses Queenie Hall-McLean, Shona Bennets, Stancie Stone, and Mr. L. Muir, entertained a large and appreciative audience at the Hataitai Methodist Hall ''on Saturday evening. Items were many and varied,- the programme consisting of plays, choruses, and individual items. A pretty and effective fairy play was charmingly enacted by Peggy Meier, Violet Solomon, Fiona Trengrove, Margaret Cummins, Jill Cooper, Rita Morris, June Garnham, May AVotherspoon, Bernice Martinez, and Stancie Stone.
The bedtime chorus, "Little White Hill of Dreams," was daintily sung sby the smaller pupils. A school scene, "Merry and Bright," was capably acted by Peggy Meier, Violet Solomon, Margaret Cummins, Keith Jones, and Gordon and John Duncan. Individual items consisted of recitations by Fiona Trengrove, Bernice Martinez, and June Garnham, and songs by Peggy Meier and Jill Cooper. A vocal duet by Misses Mavis Windsor and Queenie Hall-McLean was much enjoyed, as was also the solo dancing by Shona Bennets and Stancie Stone. Miss Mavis Windsor's elocutionary items were very much appreciated. The accompaniments were played by Mr. Leslie Muir. At the conclusion of tho programme Jlrs. Menard presented the bouquets and prizes.
