WELLINGTON V. AUCKLAND

The announcement of the Auckland team for the Plunket Shield match with AVellington completes the selections for the coming cricket festival, in which two of the matches will be played at the Basin Reserve. The personnel of the teams suggests that the matches will provide much keen and interesting cricket, with the prospect of a good run of outstanding performances. The Auekland-AVellington match is ono of those to be played in AVellington, and it is to commence next Saturday. A strong side has been chosen to represent Auckland, tho chosen players in the main being well known to followers of tho game in AVellington. The new men are Edmonds, a batsman-wie-ketkeeper, and Wallace, a promising colt, who made a big score in the Auckland town-country match last week, and who has been scoring heavily in club cricket. AVellington's team has a good spattering of young players, and it is expected that they will perform so well as not to throw too heavy a responsibility upon the experienced members of the side. The local team is one that can be depended, upon to supply some of the bright features of a match which each year has its special attractions. Tho Gantcrbury-AVcllington match is the second local attraction, and is to commence on Saturday week. The hours of play each day will be:—ll a.m. to 1 p.m., 1.45 p.m. to 3.45 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Christmas Day, however, there will be no pre-lunch session The Wellington Cricket Association has available a limited number of hon* orary membership tickets,' which may be procured on application to the secretary.
