HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
The House of Representatives met at 10.30 a.m. today. Jlr. S. G. Smith (Government, New Plymouth) gave notice to ask the Postmaster General if he would arrange for more satisfactory clothing for postmen during the summer months. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Tolhurst returned to Wellington today by the Wanganella after an extended tour of Australia. Tho Mayor of Petone (Jlr. D. McKenzie), who is also chairman of the Petone Swimming Bnths Committee, has received a letter from Mr. AY. Jit-Hardy Forman enclosing, on behalf of his company, General Motors, New Zealand, Ltd., a cheque for £25 towards the cost of constructing a swimming pool for children at Petone. The hope was expressed by Mr. Forman that the Mayor would be successful in raising the balance of the money for this y«»tur«,
