AMERICAN WHISKY DEMAND
LIQUOR QUOTA FROM CANADA
WASHINGTON, December 14. Mr. Joseph Choate, jun., director of the Federal Alcohol Control Administration, announced late today that liquor importers had been given . permits to import 5,580,590 gallons of Canadian . liquor during four months of the quota period. Approximately half the amount will be for blending purposes, Canada being the only source of supply for the.Ameri-can-favoured bourbon and rye whiskies, Canada thus tops all other countries in the amount she may send into tha United States. Italy is next with 1,100,000 gallons.
