CANADIAN VISITORS
Among tho regular visitors to Now Zealand ports are ships from Canada, either calling en route to Australia before returning homewards, or loading and discharging here on their return trip to New York, Boston, and Montreal or Halifax, Ships calling at North Island ports usually go first to Auckland, those visiting ports in the South Island going first to Dunedin. It is rare indeed that one of .these Canada ian vessels comes first to Wellington, and then proceeds to load in the south —almost as rare as a call at "Wellington by a ship direct from Montreal. Tho last time a vessel called from Montreal was in 1928, when the Canadian Conqueror" arrived here on October 11. There have been a few other occasions on which Wellington has figured as a first port of call in JNfew Zealand for these ships, but not many. The first for some years is the Canadian Highlander, which is due here from Sydney next Thursday to load wool. She will be in port, for two days,, and will proceed to Lyttelton, Thna.ru, and Dunedin } then proceeding homewards,
