Passengers from America to New Zealand by the Koyal Mail liner Makura will observe Christmas Day between San Francisco and Papeete, the ship being scheduled to clear San Francisco on December 20. The Maraina, leaving Auckland on December 22, is due at Sydney on Boxing Day, and tho Wanganella is due at Sydne,y from Wellington on Christmas Day. Passengers travelling from America to New Zealand by the Matson liner Mon* terey will celebrate Christmas Day the day before the ship reaches Suva. Passengers on the Mariposa, which will leave Auckland next Tuesday for Loi Angeles and San Francisco, will observe Christmas between Pago Pago and Honolulu. Travellers for Vancouver by the Niagara will spend Christmas Day between Honolulu and Vancouver, 'two days after tho ship leaves Honolulu. The Shaw, Savill liner Akaroa, which left Auckland this week for London, will be in the middle of the Pacific on Christmas Day, also the New Zealand Shipping Company's Eotorua, which left Wellington this morning for London, and the Shaw, Savill liner Mataxoa, which left Southampton for New Zealand,on December 1 and is due at .Wellington on January 3. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Bemuera, which was to have left London yesterday for New Zealand, and the company's liner Buahine, which is to leave Liverpool on December 23, will also bo at sea over the .festive period. »Both these ships Will be in the Atlantic on Christmas Day. Among the cargo ships which will be in Wellington on Christmas Day are the Benreoch, Karamea, Cornwall, and Barigitata. Admiral Byrd's supply ship Bear of Oakland is expected to arrive here about the ,same time.
