CHOCK SAY AS HURDLER
Chock Say schooled excellently prior to making her debut as a hurdler at AVoodville last Saturday, and oh the strength of this she was sent out the win favourite in the Manga-atua Hack Hurdles, in spite of the fact that with 9.12 she had none the best of the argument, with the handicapper. She was out in; the load when she crashed at the first fence, so no real line was gained on her.
This four-year-old daughter of Lord Quex will necessarily haVe'to return to the flat if she races at Awapuni, for there are no hurdling events at the Manawatu Meeting, but she will have another chance as a jumper at Marton on New Year's Day. There, in being weighted at 9.9, slie has been set to meet all her Woodville opponents at hetter terms, including an advantage of 121b from Air Laddie and 101b from Manuiri, the Woodville winners, so she should have a right royal chance of atoning for her initial failure.
