EVANS BAY NOTES

During the. past fortnight Evans Bay has been a scene of great activity among the small boats; trials for representation in tte New Zealand boys' championship being in full swing. In tho sheltered waters near the clubhouse it is possible to race under almost any weather condititfus, and full advantage has been taken of this circuinstanee. Evening after evening the sporty little.Takapunas may be seen running with spinnakers, dropping them at the loeward mark—sometimes in tho water,, but it ia all in the game—and fighting like terriers on the beat to windward. The Annetta and the Muritai have lately visited Leper Island and other points round the harbour, apparently with a. view to finding out which could take longer on the trip back to the. Bay. So far honours are with tho Muritai. The social committee has been doing some hard thinking lately, and this week's dance is likely to show the result. Following on monotype and ladies' races in the afternoon, the club is confident of an enjoyable »nd exhilarating night,
