STOKES VALLEY EVENT
Mfcnibers of , the Stokes Valley Women's Institute entertained their children at a Christmas party in the local hall this week. Sixty children sat down to tea at tables daintily decorated in festive style, and afterwards they enjoyed an exciting treasure hunt, when many little gifts were found. Games and races caused great fun, and Mr. Burton, ventriloquist, also entertained.
The climax \vas vreached when "The Coining of Santa Claus," a delightful little playlet written and produced by institute members, \yaa played. Those who took part were;Florenc6/ Fenton, Patricia Fenton, 1 Jimmy,. Deer, and Mr. BramweH. The conclusion, brought "Santa Claus" into the hall, when every child.received a gift.
A speech of thanks was given by Mrs. Summers to the committee, each member receiving a dainty posy of sweets.
