Mrs. Vivian Eiddiford and Miss Pamela Biddiford, "Woburn," Lower Hutt, will leave on Wednesday next to spend Christmas wltn Mrs. Eiddiford 's mother, . Mrs. Thorne-George, Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. L. O. H. Tripp, Molesworth Street, are spending the summer months at their house at Heretaunga. Mrs. Dudley Newbigin, Hastings who has been visiting her aunt, Mrs> Creagh O'Connor Grant Eoad, returned home today. Mrs. Guy Williams and Miss Joan Williams, "Te Parae," Masterton, will sail by the Mataroa in February for a' trip to England. Mrs. and Miss Williams motored to Wellington this week, and returned home yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Nathan, Hobson Crescent, will leave Wellington on Thursday next for Auckland and Eotorua. Miss Joyce Nathan will be the guest of Mrs. Creagh O'Connor, at . Heretaunga, during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Strang, who have been staying with Mr. Alan Strang, Heretaunga, returned to New Plymouth yesterday., Miss Peggy Lowes, who has been spending some weeks in Wellington, retuivned to Eketahuna today. She- was tno guest of Mrs. C. E. Richardson and of Mrs. R. E. Tripe, Selwyn Torrace, Mrs. Arthur Gore and her daughter, Mrs. Caro, Hastings, who have paid a brief visit to Wellington, returned home today. They were tne guests of Mrs. Caro's daughter, Mrs. H. J. H. Gilmer. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Cooke, Halswell Street, and th«ir children will spend the summer holidays at their cottage at Paraparaumu. • j Miss Drnsth Sloman, Tinakori Eoad, will leave at the end of next; week, for the South Island, where she "■wilt spend Christmas -with Mrs. .Scobie. Mackenzie, "Kyeburn," Otago. ' Mrs. Solomon Katz, who has been spending three weeks at Rotorua, is now visiting Auckland. Misses Mary, Jean, and Egi'dia Menzies will arrive in Wellington oi-Wed-, nesday morning from Christchurch, and will pay a round of visits in the North Island. ~ Miss Constance Pinder has returned to Wellington aftor an extended visit to England and the Continent. Mr. and Mrs. J. Paterson, Karori, left today for a visit to Central Otago. Misses Bertha and Jessie Forbes will spend part of the holidays at their cottage at Gore Bay. Mrs. George Peacock and her two daughters, Misses Joy and Peggy Peacock, left for Sydney yesterday by the Monowai. Miss Joy Peacock is'to be married in Sydney on December. 22, and leaves for Western Australia'the following day. Her future home will be in Perth. Mrs. Peacock is proceeding to Hobart to stay some months with her eldest daughter, Mrs. Adrian. Miss L. Clouston, principal of St. Cuthbert's College, Auckland, left. Wellington yesterday by the Monowai for Sydney. Miss Nancy Saluiond, Christchurch, ■will arrive next Tuesday to spend a holiday in Wellington, and Pictou, Miss Brownlee, accompanied by Miss•Robertson, left yesterday for Miarlborough Sounds, where they intend spending an extended holiday at Miss Brownlee's summer residence, Pigeon Bay. Mrs. J. A. Sims,. "Invelochy," Mortimer Terrace, loft Wellington last evening for a visit to Dunedin and Balclutha. Miss M. MatthWs (Auckland), Mrs. E. and the Misses Matthews (Featherston), Mrs. H. F. and Mias R. Monro (Blenheim), and Mrs. and Miss A. E. Wilson (Christchureh) are among the guests at the Royal Oak Hotel. Miss Greenslade (Dunedin), Mrs. and Miss Dransfield (Auckland), and Mrs. J. A. Mathewson (Dunedin) are among the guests at the Hotel St.George. Miss Margaret Eastwood, Wadestown, left AVellington today on a holi-j day visit to Paraparaumu. Mr. and Mrs. W. Waters left recently to take up their residence in Auckland.
