MISS H. MILES ENTERTAINED

To welcome Miss Hilda Miles, who returned to AVellington this week after' a holiday visit to India, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Batten entertained a number of friends, to a five o'clock party at their home in Murphy Street. Delphiniums, summer hydrangeas, and bowls of mixed flowers decorated the rooms. Mrs. Batten wore a black lace frock, and her mother, Mrs. Morrah,was in wine red lace. Miss Miles wore a smart suit of Lido blue and a beige hat. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. E.. H. Ellis" (who also returned this week from, tho East), Mrs. Hughes Steele, Mr. and vMrs. C. C.
