WAITANGI MINE REPORT.
The latest report from the Waitangi Mine, Marlbprough, received today states that traces of gold have now been met with in the face of the drive. The first ripple in the .gold box panned- off' disclosed small heavy pieces of gold and this is regarded as an extremely favourable sign that the main gutter, towards which the drive is directed, is appreciabley near. The South Australian Trade Commissioner (Mr. W. P. McCann) has succeeded in arranging a contract for the supply of 60.000 cases of South Australian apples by direct shipment to the Scandinavian Co-operative Society at Stockholm.
