SHIPMENT OF STUD SHEEP

A second shipment of. 20 stud rains ! is being sent to the Argentine this year ■ by Mr. "W. Eayner, of "The Cliffs," 1 Masterton.. The.sheep are being sent ■ by the Pakeha, .which leaves Napier this afternoon for London, via Cape : Horn and Montevideo, and comprise 15 • Lincolns, three Bomneys, and two Corriedales, representing the, top sheep in Mr. : Bayner's flock. Company, Ltd., and Gibson Heraanos, . agents for the Loan and Mercantile, will take care of the sheep in Buenos : Aires, where they: will be auctioned in February. . . Mr. Rayner's. previous consignment left in. June, and the 19 rams realised 10,000 Argentine dollars. The value which is placed on New Zealand-bred aheep in the Argentine is shown "by, the results of .the sale, at ..which, the ...sheep changed hands. Tho best bid for an English-bred Lincoln was £40, whereas tho top Lincoln of Mr. Hayner's consignment realised £91. The average for English type Bomneys was under £20, while Mr"' Bayner's, Eomneys averaged £89, tho top price being £121. Mr. Eayner's Corriedale averaged- £52, and the average for the wholo shipment was nearly ,£.60. ... Travelling in charge of the sheep is Mr. G-. C.
