NEW ZEALAND LEGION
The acting general secretary of tho Kew Zealand Legion commenting on tho report in "The Post" last night with reference to the correspondence which passed between the United Mine Workers of New Zealand and tho Legion, states that a misunderstandings may arise as the correspondence which Was released to tho West Coast paper was incomplete. The' Miners' Council was under a complete delusion as to tho nature of the Legion as evidenced by their' absurd statements that "they were perfectly .well aware of what the Legion is," when indeed they knew nothing of the Legion's origin or a-iins. "The chairman of the National Executive of the XeW Zealand' Legion has written a further letter and we feel that this Bhould be mentioned," states the acting secretary. "In that letter the chairman stated that all the assumptions made ny the miners, such as 'tool of the capitalist class,' are entirely ■without foundation, and incidentally he asked to hfi informed tho source of that information, as nothing he had heard leads him to imagine that this could possibly be true."
