The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. today, •. • ,- Replying 'to Mr. W. J. Broadfoot (Government, Waitomo), the Prime Minister (the ,Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) said a proportion of the flour sold by New Zealand millers already contained an admixture of flour made from imported wheat. While it was claimed that the imported material improved the quality, particularly for certain purposes, many users had for years past been satisfied to rely entirely on the home-grown product, which generally gave good results; The wlieatgrowing and flour-milling industries had the expert assistance of the "Wheat Research Institute in the testing and improving of both grain and mill; products, and no special steps to meet the position appeared necessary, : (Proceeding)
