TIMBER FOR LONDON

SOUTHLAND SILVER BEECH (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ■ INVEECAKGILL, December 4. A shipment of 50,000 feet of Southland silver beech timber, cut in the western district and at Catlina, will be shipped from Bluff tomorrow by the Pakeha for London. The timber is in sizes suitable for the motor-body building industry. This is the first of a series of orders obtained as a result of a visit of Messrs. E. Bauchop and A. E. Entrican to England a year ago. Beforo tho end of the year t\Vo or three further shipments will be made, bringing the total, with the present shipment up to about 200,000 feet. The trade is so far in the experimental stage, but its expansion in the near future to .business.of .large proportions ia hoped for.
