HUTt VALLEY CLUB

Swimming is likely to be in. for a boom period in the' Hutt Valley this coining season. The Hutt Valley Swimming Club has practically trebled its membership, and has launched out,into a progressive movement to Hold its members by fitting iip a cliibroom in "the basement'of the Riddifoid -Baths.' When it was taken over from, the Lower Hufct Borough Council its floor,-walls, apd ceiling^ were of rough concrete. The cjubi at its own expense, has fitted a wooden floor, and has tastefully, distempered the walls and ceiling. Alcoves along one side are being provided ■with card table's, and in thcs body of the joom are two, ping-pong tables, a gramophone, and a piano. Seating accommodation has'-beeri; provided.-

The 'room will. be "officially- opened on Saturday, evening, when-, prizes won last season". will be presented. The Hutt .Valley Swimming: Club is doing all possible to iosfer the formation of the club in. Pctone, where the recently-built baths will shortly be available.
