FURTHER DECREASE
UNEMPLOYMENT IN BRITAIN

A further decrease in unemployment took place in October, and the returns of tho Ministry of Labour show that since January the unemployed figure has fallen 600,245.
The total of registered unemployed in October was 2,298,753, representing a reduction during the month oi' 37,974, and a reduction as compared with one year ago of 448,253.
The estimated increase in tho number of injured persons employed last month was 44,000 in comparison with the previous month, arid 537,000 compared with one year ago.
By October of last year, the industrial improvement, which has since continued, first became apparent, and the preseut comparison is therefore made with the register of unemployed which had begun to shrink.
