Gordon Eichards, the champion jockey, rode his 247 th winner this season at Liverpool thip afternoon, and thus established a new Turf record. Fred Archer's record, which. ha£ stood for 48 years, was 246. Richards was accorded a tremendous ovation. The news was telephoned to Buckinghan\ Palace, and Eichards, a feT minutes alter the race, received a telegram of congratulation ':• from the King, later, ho rode his 248 th, winner.
