(By Telegraph.)
(Special to the "Evening Post.")
DUNEDIN, This Day.
At a meeting of the Dunedin Drainage Board, which has decided to endeavour to stabilise wages at present rates and restore the- 10 per cent, cut as soon as possible, tho chairman said that whilst it was unfortunate that a number of employers had taken advantage- of the fact that tho powers of the Arbitration Court had been reduced and had brought wages lower than tho recognised rate, the board realised its duty to its employees and insisted that its contracts should be let to firms only on condition that they paid standard rates of wages.
