SINGLE MEN IN GAMP
REDUCED RELIEF PAY
COUNTY COUNCIL SCHEME

AUCKLAND, November 8.
Instructions have been issued by the Auckland office of tho Unemployment Board to county councils in tho provinco that single men in unemployment camps controlled by them are to be paid 20s per week as from Monday instead of the 25s r,ate now ruling. No official explanation of the decision has so far been made, but, in actual practice, the new rate will bring unemployed single men in country camps into line with single men employed in Public AVorks Department camps and in similar camps controlled by other Government departments, who aro paid 10s per week and aro fed and housed.
